What are some ways I can lose weight?

I am 5'8, and 162 pounds. My doctors have told me I shoud try to lose about 10 to 20 pounds so I can be more healthier, because I'm starting to get High Blood Pressure. I also have type 1 diabetes, so I have to be careful when I exercise. But everytime I do exercise, it doesn't help. I don't want to join a gym, and I could get on a diet. What are some healthy ways for me to lose this much weight?

You have to be consistent. Make sure you exercise 4-5 times a week and keep doing it. Nothing will happen overnight. If you don't want to go on a strict diet. Just cut out a few things like soda and junk food.

One of the easiest ways to start losing is cut out all soft drinks and juices from your fluid intake and stick to water and milk ONLY. Many people don't realize how many empty calories they take in via sweetened soft drinks. (artificially sweetened drinks are also bad for you in other ways…)

Its very simple. If you are gaining weight you are eating too much or too much of the wrong types of food. A healthy diet and exercise works 100% of the time, but people are not willing to commit to both.

There is no mystery to weight loss. Eat less, exercise more. Exercise 3-5 times a week for at least 30 minutes at a time. You can still eat a variety of foods but try to avoid anything processed. I see people load up on snack foods while at the store. They're buying Little Debbies, chips, packaged cookies. Why? This is not only toxic but fattening. Try to eat foods that you cooked, not something you opened from a box. If you must eat boxed foods then watch for trans fat. You want it to be zero. Check the ingredient list and make sure it has nothing hydrogenated or partiallyl hydrogenated because those are trans fat. Watch sugar content. Avoid foods with high fructose corn syrup. Eat five times a day at regular times. Watch your portion size. Drink lots of water. The weight WILL come off. It will come slow but it WILL come off.

Change up your diet if it consists of soda/pop, sugar, chips and pastries or any of those "ready to eat" things that come packaged and processed. Slow down a little on snacking and replace snacks with fruits, veggies, yogurt, hummas and pita chips, crackers and rice cakes that come in different flavors. Walk often if you can't really jog yet, it gets your blood flowing and your muscles working. Do sit ups and pushups daily- maybe first thing before your morning shower to get you lively. Spend your time sitting around walking around a park , museum or mall. Drink a full glass of water with every meal and only drink fruit juices (not loaded in sugar- koolaid is not a juice) for other beverages. It's all about eating well and keeping your body busy.

I think you should work out at your house or some where for 10 to 15 minutes a day. maybe you could write down the things you have eaten each day. you don't have to let anyone know that you write down stuff that you eat. losing weight takes time so try to lose weight at the right time you feel you can do it.

Cut back on the salt and carbs, and drink plenty of water.

Eat smaller more frequent meals, and eliminate junk food, especially salty snacks and sugary treats.

    Exercise…..simple as that.
If you exercise on a regular basis along with eating a healthy diet, you will lose weight.
Don't expect it to happen overnight and don't try to starve yourself.
    Do it the healthy way.

Protien shake (whey is best) every morning. B 100 vitamins, St John's Wort are good for managing stress which can lead to weight gain or retention. Keep in mind to Eat Less, Do More for the rest of the day. Also, if sugar is hard to stay away from, make a schedual. Like, 1 day off sugar/2 days on sugar ect. Then just keep reducing the amount of sugar days.

Diet is key especially since you are diabetic. I would recommend consulting a nutritionist but reducing your simple carbohydrate consumtion is very important. Find an exrecise you enjoy. A program of cardio and weight training works best but any exercise is better than none.
