Epidemic Obesity
Obesity epidemic is a term which describes the timely and accurate health condition caused by overweight populations around the world. Isn’t it shocking to find that obesity has become an epidemic in literal sense?. It is much more alarming to see that the condition in America outweights the severity of the conditions in all other countries in the world.
While obesity epidemic is common to both children and adults, the the darker side of the condition is obese children who turn adults gaining heart diseases, diabetes, 30 mg paroxetine arthritis and even cancer, at an earlier age than earlier generations.
Studies show that in America, the sole cause behind obesity epidemic is bad eating habits. Fast foods, tinned, canned and packeted food items are nothing but culprits in this case. Bad eating habits, excessive time spent watching television and lack of physical exercise all contribute to get obesity epidemic spread steadily across generations.
From recently many obese people have gathered around the idea of obesity epidemic as being a genetic condition. While genetics can play a role in weight gaining process, the question mark lies in how a whole nation could become victim to an obesity epidemic which does not transmit through any means but only comes in to play through excessive eating and little physical exertion. However, it cannot be denied that environment plays a part in obesity which may make children of one generation heavier than the previous. When we talk about the environment, it is crucial to look at the lifestyles we have acquired and the amount of exercise we get on a daily basis. These habits too can quite naturally be passed down to generations without our conscious notice or effort.
According to statistics, we see no progress in to curing this so called obesity epidemic. The numbers have not decreased over the years and the number of illnesses due to obesity epidemic is on the rise, each passing day.
I see it as an absurb notion to see how one group of people die due to lack of food and how another group is dying due to an excess of food So where should we draw the line between food and well being? And what do we do about the temptations and all those yummy dishes and sweets? Whatever said and done, at the end of the day, they are all individual choices!
